World Animal Day

Lahore Zoo, Pakistan

On October 4, 2009, the Lahore Zoo Education Department celebrated World Animal Day. Festivities began around the elephant yard, where Suzi, one of the most beloved animals at the zoo, welcomed visitors. Many visitors along with the zoo director, education officer, veterinary officer, keepers, and field staff gathered around the exhibit as Suzi cut the cake. Filling the cake table were gifts for all of the zoo animals, including fruit for Twinkle and Sunny, the giraffes. Other animals received biscuits, fruit juice and honey. The day was enjoyed by both the animals and visitors!
