The Adelaide Zoo is celebrating the Year of the Frog in a variety of ways. One activity that is offered to student programs is the frog classification lesson. Pitfall traps are set throughout the zoo, allowing the children to collect and bring the frogs back to the classroom where they are observed and classified using a classification key. Also to celebrate Leap Day, a cake-eating competition was held, where students competed to eat a frog-shaped cake. The winner was awarded a giant chocolate frog.
