John has been a Zoo Educator since 1995 at the Adelaide Zoo in South Australia and has been involved in Education since 1980. In his role as Zoo Education Officer John has been involved in developing new and interactive methods of getting the message across in fun, hands on ways. He has grown to understand the importance of Education in Zoos and Aquariums and the tremendous influence we have, as Educators, on those with whom we come in contact.
John has been in many and varied roles during his time as Zoo Educator, including Board Member of the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia Inc and member of the Board Education Committee. These experiences have given him a better understanding and a ‘big picture’ view of the successful operating and managing of the many departments of a Zoo.
