Senior Educational Officer
Bloemfontein Zoo

Lawrence recently accepted the position as Senior Educational Officer at the Bloemfontein Zoo in South Africa. In his previous position as Environmental Education Office at the Johannesburg Zoo, Lawrence was in direct contact with the public, schools, and interest groups. He developed the Zoo-to-you program for local disadvantaged communities to experience contact with the Zoo. Before joining Johannesburg Zoo, Lawrence completed 8 years of post-graduate work experience, most of which was spent at Food and Trees for Africa, a national environmental NGO.

In regards to zoo education, Lawrence feels "that I can make the most significant contribution in this particular post – particularly for the benefit of future generations and for the many people who have not had the opportunity to be informed about biodiversity."
