Loran is the author and designer of six SeaWorld books, including the new SeaWorld Animal Souvenir Book. He is also an independent, award-winning author of two children's books - If a Dolphin Were a Fish (2007 Florida Children's Book of the Year from the Florida Publishing Association) and Felina's New Home  (2010 Bock Book Award for Children's Literature). Loran has raised animals his entire life. One of his early jobs at SeaWorld was to raise some of their animals - newly hatched sharks, macaws, turtles, tropical fish and iguanas. Recently, Loran has had the extreme privilege of caring for SeaWorld's vast collection of penguins and was part of the team that helped to rehabilitate and release more than 150 endangered sea turtles in 2010. Loran lives with his wife and child in Florida.
