Educators from around the world shared their exciting education programs, partnerships and evaluations through 47 paper presentations, 19 poster presentations, 3 panels, and 4 workshops. View the collection of abstracts from all the presentations. During the conference, great connections between zoo educators were made. If you would like to follow-up with someone, view the list of conference participants. On the last day of the conference, open-space sessions were held allowing time for discussions of specific topics. Each session's notes have been compiled and are available to view.

In order to understand the needs of IZE members and be able to better tailor future conferences to meet those needs, an evaluation of the conference was conducted. The conference evaluation consisted of eight questions, allowing participants to rank the conference on individual factors as well as the overall conference experience. Carbon Offsets

The 2010 IZE Conference was very proud to be a carbon neutral event.  Every participant’s airfare, on-site transportation and all energy use during the conference was calculated to determine carbon offset levels which were reinvested in the Garcia River Forest Project, a California project that demonstrates that forest restoration can achieve verifiable emissions reductions by sequestering carbon in the living biomass of forests.  To learn more about the Garcia River Project, visit: www.conservationfund.org/west/california/garcia.
